FDD Lawyer

Vacancy description

Wadkins Associates are collaborating with a leading P&I Club to assist in their search for a Mid-Senior Dry Shipping Lawyer in Hong Kong.

The work will be centred around advising members on both FDD and P&I claims across Hong Kong and the wider APAC region. You’ll manage a varied caseload including dry shipping disputes, managing external counsel on complex litigation, and supporting casualty response operations.

Advantages of the role include:

  • Regional exposure: Handle claims across multiple Asian jurisdictions while building relationships with shipowners, brokers and local counsel throughout the Asia-Pacific maritime community
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside specialists in marine insurance, underwriting and claims across multiple global offices, with opportunities to support business development
  • Prestige: As a leading IG Club, you can expect to work with exceptional legal talent internally and with the best shipowners and charterers in the market.

We are looking to speak with English or Common Law qualified lawyers with 4-8 PQE with relevant dry shipping litigation experience. Fluent Mandarin is required alongside excellent English. In addition to Dry shipping, experience in commodities, trade work or P&I casualty response would be advantageous.
