VACANCY DESCRIPTION

Wadkins Associates are exclusively supporting a London shipowner, who are searching for a qualified lawyer (from any jurisdiction) to fill a coveted in-house position. With few in-house opportunities available, we are excited to bring something new to the market.

The company manages an extensive fleet with a global reach. The work is both contentious and non-contentious, involving advice on legal, commercial, and practical matters. You can expect to review charterparties and bills of lading, respond to claims and emergencies, and oversee insurance, supplier agreements, and contract renewals, as well as ship sale and purchases.

These main advantages stood out for us when conversing with the head of the team:

  • Something different every day: Due to the unique requirements of a diversified fleet, the role provides the opportunity for real variety in your work. With training on offer to cover any parts of commercial shipping you are not yet familiar with, this is a chance to broaden your experience as a legal professional.
  • Flexibility: Our client keenly recognises the value of work from home flexibility. Past initial on-site training, you would have the option to work from home three days a week.
  • Better work/life balance: The significant advantage of a move in-house is the chance to take away the stress of billable hours and enjoy the stability of a 9-5 workday.

Our client is keen to look at qualified lawyers from multiple backgrounds. The role would be perfect for someone who will get stuck into a range of responsibilities with diligence and enthusiasm.

If you are interested in this opportunity or would like to discuss the market in detail, please get in touch.
