The in-house world offers lawyers the opportunity to work on varied and diverse work alongside having a stable work/life balance. Our client, a leading shipowner, with an exceptionally large and diverse fleet is widely regarded as a pre-eminent force within the shipping arena. With a growing charterer base, the relationships that the group nurtures ensure they are universally seen as a leading light within the shipping world.
Wadkins Associates are delighted to be representing our client in their search for a legal counsel in London. Alongside a strong bench of work, career development is valued and supported. Moreover, our client is seeking lawyers that can adapt their work processes and undertake work in new practice areas, while being able to work autonomously with minimal support.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail alongside possessing strong commercial awareness. In addition, the ideal candidate should be willing to take a leadership position in managing and developing more junior members of the growing and ambitious team.
The chosen candidate will work across our client’s non-contentious offering and will therefore be involved in the drafting and negotiating of loan agreements for vessel acquisition, negotiation of commercial agreements, including charterparty, offshore supply and vessel sale and purchase agreements.
The ideal candidate will have a shipping transactional background and therefore will have extensive practice ship finance experience. Our client is seeking an associate with at least 5 years’ post qualification experience seeking a new challenge in a thriving and growing in-house shipping legal team.
