Maritime law is a complex and vibrant specialism. With the sector undergoing change, most notably with technology, working and developing a thriving career in the field promises to be highly rewarding. Our client, a highly focused and niche firm, with a concentration on maritime law is seeking a promising associate to join them in London.
Our client widely recognised for their expertise in shipping litigation is seeking an associate with both wet and dry experience. On the wet side, active knowledge of casualty and general average issues is preferred. On the dry side, experience relating to bills of lading, charterparties and shipbuilding contracts is required as the chosen candidate will be expected to advise on these issues.
The successful candidate will work alongside the partners in delivering solutions to their clients’ complex cases. Crucially however, the ideal candidate should be capable of managing cases independently, in addition to assisting more junior members of the team.
The ideal candidate will be England and Wales qualified with at least 4 years’ post-qualification experience gained from another leading shipping practice. Moreover, maritime experience is required for this position.
