The P&I Club world is undergoing transformation. Investment in technology and legal team growth means that working and developing your legal career in-house will provide you with challenging and diverse work. Moreover, an emphasis on a collegiate environment coupled with a warm atmosphere undoubtedly means that for the successful candidate, this opportunity is ideal.
Our client is one of the largest Clubs and has a global footprint. They are seeking a shipping lawyer to work in their Tokyo office, alongside the already established legal team, to contribute and add value to the group and to the Club globally. The chosen candidate will work across FD&D disputes and regularly handle charterparty disputes and bills of lading issues.
The Japan office is principally involved in FD&D and frequently advises on numerous insurance disputes for a growing number of shipowners and charterers and our client has a historic reputation in the Clubs world.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 2 years’ experience in shipping law and preferably have knowledge and experience of dry disputes. Additionally, the chosen candidate ideally must want to live and work in Tokyo and take advantage of all the city has to offer.
