Many firms in the maritime sector operate on behalf of shipowners and charterers leaving a few select firms to specialise in work on behalf of cargo interests. 

A leading international law firm renowned for their expertise in the shipping, aviation and energy sectors our client present a different approach to shipping litigation work, working on behalf of this cargo interest. They have a team based out of Manchester which is renowned internationally for the work it has done on behalf of cargo owners and with a growing case load they are looking to expand their team with the hire of an exceptional litigation associate.

Responsible for the cargo team their internationally recognised partner is looking for an exceptional associate with experience working on behalf of cargo interests / within marine insurance to assist them with their unique and exciting case load. With numerous reported cases in his career history he continues to advise on big ticket cargo claims on issues in a number of jurisdictions.

As you will be assisting with a complex case load the ideal candidate is expected to be England and Wales qualified with 1 to 5 years of post qualification experience in shipping litigation. It is preferable that the candidate further has experience dealing on behalf of the cargo interest on matters such as salvage, general average and collisions, however not essential.
