Individuals with seagoing experience offer special and highly valued skills in the legal industry as their practical knowledge of the sea allows them a deeper insight into important elements of a case; such as what may have caused an accident to happen or what damage a situation might cause.
Our client, an exceptional and highly regarded international law firm, is looking for a master mariner to work alongside their lawyers in London. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in casualty investigations including managing the aftermath of collisions, groundings, fires and explosions. Your skills will be utilised through taking witness statements as you work with the firm’s lawyers in assessing accident damage.
The emergencies you will be presented with will allow you to use your vital and necessary skills as you assess cargo recoveries and run claims. Additionally, our client is offering a variety of work from an interesting array of clients including shipowners, charterers and P+I Clubs.
The ideal candidate will be a master mariner with 10 to 15 years’ experience at sea with an exceptional understanding of commercial vessels. Additionally, an excellent command of spoken and written English is key.
