The ideal candidate will be a mid-level commodities associate with substantial experience in commodities trading gained from a leading law firm in addition to having in-house experience supporting a commodities trading group.

Our client is not only an important international firm, it has a particularly significant China practice with enormously experienced practitioners; the successful candidate will work alongside the region’s award-winning tier one partners and will be an important member of the team. The right candidate will have experience in shipping and commodities litigation.
You will be involved in complex commercial litigation and will regularly act for the region’s most significant companies in the insurance market, shipping industry and energy sectors. Moreover, knowledge of international arbitration rules is key for this position; the successful candidate will participate in LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC and LMAA arbitrations.
The successful candidate will be an England and Wales or Hong Kong qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of experience in shipping and commodities litigation. The ideal candidate will have the option of relocating to Beijing, or alternatively will be able to work in the Hong Kong office. Additionally, Mandarin is a must for this important and highly coveted position.
